The Aerial Lift or Bucket Truck Operator uses an 83-foot tracked aerial lift or a bucket truck to prune trees that are hard to access, or to remove dead or structurally weak trees. They work in collaboration with cranes and ground staff to remove trees and lower sections of wood. The Operator drives a variety of vehicles. A Class 3 licence is required to use the bucket truck.
Skills and Responsibilities
Experience using tracked lifts or other aerial platforms;
Experience working with trees, rigging and chainsaws;
Willingness to work 8-hour days in difficult weather conditions;
Sensitivity and care towards specialized and expensive equipment;
Reliable and positive team player;
Valid driver’s license and mobile phone;
Class 3 driver’s license an asset (required for the bucket truck);
Bilingualism (English and French) an asset but not required.
Monday to Friday, March or April to December
Statutory holidays, potential summer breaks assessed on a case-by-case basis
Salary and Benefits
25 – 35$/hr, based on experience and skills;
Continuing education in all aspects of arboriculture provided throughout the season by ISA trainers;
