Stump removal uses a machine to grind away a stump, of any diameter, to an agreed depth below ground level. This is usually between 6 and 12 inches, which leaves a level area for grass to be grown. Stump chips are then raked into the hole, ready for landscaping. The mix of wood chips and soil make an excellent mulch.
CABLE / BRACING
There are several options for cabling a tree. The best is a dynamic cable with the brand name ‘Cobra’ or ‘Boa’, which can stretch and absorb wind loads. They are excellent products that keep trees standing. Almost all trees that fail could have been supported with the simple installation of this great product.
Since the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) arrived in the Montréal area, we have purchased lifting and transport equipment to be able to remove large quantities of wood. Most municipalities require ash wood to be transported to dumps outside of the city, unfortunately thereby increasing the clients’ cost of tree removals and increasing the spread of EAB. Such are the vagaries of municipal policy.
